It is spring now. March, April and May are spring months. The weather is fine in spring. It is cool or warm. It sometimes rains. In May it is very warm. You can see flowers in the fields.

REVIEW OF BOOK. FOR 8a form.
The Philosopher’s Stone is the first in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series of seven novels that have made her the most successful literary author of all time, selling in excess of 400 million copies world-wide. The books are read and enjoyed by children and adults alike and have also been made into hugely popular films.
When I first began reading the Philosopher’s stone I was immediately struck by how good – and laugh-out-loud funny – the humour was. Rowling has managed to infuse this book with a lovely wit and charm that will both amuse and delight adults and children.
There are characters in this book that will remind us of all the people we have met. Everybody knows or knew a spoilt, overweight boy like Dudley or a bossy and interfering (yet kind-hearted)

ИДИОМЫ. 8а класс
1) Kick the bucket – дословно данную идиому можно перевести «пинать ведро», однако в действительности она соответствует русским «двинуть копыта, сыграть в ящик, отбросить коньки, и т.д.». Проще говоря, значение этого фразеологизма – «умереть».
2) As cool as a cucumber – «спокойный как огурец». Однако на русский данной сочетание лучше переводить как уравновешенный, терпеливый, невозмутимый. Данная идиома применяется по отношению к характеру человека.

All the people enjoy summer holidays very much. It is a great pleasure to have a rest after a whole year of hard work or study. People like to travel during their summer holidays. Some people go abroad to see new countries, some people prefer to go to the country-side to enjoy country-life far from noise and fuss of big cities.
Some people like to spend their holidays in cities, visiting theatres, museums and going sightseeing. But a great number of people go to the seaside in summer.
I like to have rest at the seaside best of all. I do not like crowds when I am on holiday. My family and I always have our holiday on the coast. Sea and sunshine, that is what we look forward to every summer. Hotels at the large seaside towns are rather expensive, so we usually go to a holiday camp.
Last year we spent our holidays in such a camp. Each day was full of small joys. We swam in the sea, lay in the sun, played different games
